The Islands of Massachusetts Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket
Martha's Vineyard
Have you been thinking of an Island getaway? Is the Caribbean the first thing on your mind? You do realize most of the Islands in the Caribbean would require international travel if right? Well if you live in the USA, meet Martha's Vineyard, an island located south of Cape Cod Massachusetts in the USA that is known for being a popular summer colony, or in more colloquial terms, home of the Kennedys. Martha's Vineyard includes the smaller adjacent Chappaquiddick Island, which is usually connected to the Vineyard, though storms and hurricanes have separated them, as in 2007. It is the 58th largest Island in the USA with a land area of about 96 square miles and the third-largest on the East Coast of the USA. Atrip to and from Martha's Vineyard on the Steamship Authority should cost $34 for the Ferry service from CapeCod and takes about 45 minutes to get there. You can decide to bring your transportation with you at some extra cost.
Fun Fact; The Vineyard was home to one of the earliest known deaf communities in the United States; consequently, a sign language the Martha's Vineyard Sign Language was developed on the island.
The Vineyard is made up of six towns, Tisbury, Edgartown, OakBluffs, West Tisbury, Chilmark, and Aquinnah.
The people on this Island are generally very courteous and polite, the Island has beautiful landscapes as the sea washes up a minute of the day, maintaining the ever calming sounds of the sea breeze. Environmental awareness and protection are also at another level in this Island it is engrained in their culture and architecture, they have a wide array of fauna and flora and they seriously have a skunk problem, very cute creatures but they can get really smelly too. They have food from different places around the world and it is fun to select restaurants with outside sitting. Edgartown has one of the best restaurants and places to visit and in case you bring your own car, make sure to not drive on the private roads, lots of the roads they lead to really serious people's homes hence are marked private. If you are one of those who like adventure and want to get the Secret Service really angry try going towards the home of the Obamas in Edgar town. There is also a gossip guy in town who knows when and which celebrity is coming into town at any moment, also makes sure to look out for the Russian Oligarchs and their huge Yachts. Have fuunnnnn................................
